Known as the best-kept secret tea garden of the North East, Lakysiew Tea Estate, is a true hidden gem situated in the Khasi Hills of Meghalaya. Facing the southern bank of Umiam Lake at an altitude of between 3000-4000 ft, the plantation involves dedicated contour planting on steep slopes. Paired with organic methods of cultivation results in a craft of producing delicate teas with magnificent quality. The summer arrival from this boutique plantation is a clonal black tea that greets the palate with a soft floral texture reminiscent of honeysuckle and Oriental lilies. Mesial notes of cantaloupe with subtle stone-fruity accents render depth and variety to the cup. The aftertaste of sweet grapes creates a sublime experience of the Indian Harvest 2021!

A medium-bodied, mellow, pleasantly brisk cup which opens on a soft floral texture, similar to honeysuckle and Oriental lilies and gradually grows big as you make your way through the cup. Delectable flavors of cantaloupe joined with subtle stone-fruity accents is discernible around the edges and towards the back, rendering more depth and variety to an otherwise floral experience. Luscious tones of sweet-grapes can be picked up in the aftertaste, making for a distinctive experience of Summer black teas from this boutique plantation in Meghalaya.
