Tasting Notes

From our Chief Tea Taster
Submit
Aroma
Lifted notes of peony blossom, amaryllis, muskmelon with light citrusy accents.
Appearance
Bright Gold
Taste
A light-bodied, immensely smooth cup which tastes fresh and starts with a soft floral tonality, redolent of peony blossom and amaryllis, which gradually grows into prominence as you make your way through the cup.

Towards the middle, delectable notes of muskmelon interlaced with fleeting spring-green undertones are discernible, rendering greater depth and lively feel to the liquor. Radiant tones of freshly-zested citron lingers on in the aftertaste, making for a sublime experience.

Exceptional first flush tea

Purchased this as part of three First Flush premium teas from 2023 season. Both this and the one from Seeyok garden evoke a subdued sense of sugarcaney sweetness, a taste profile that is exceedingly rare amongst Darjeeeling tea’s and last found only during the 2017-18 season. Exceptional tea. Highly recommended.

Satisfying Brew

Samabeong is one of my favorite afternoon teas. It is as satisfying as an Assam but not as high in caffeine.
