The Dikom tea estate is situated in the far eastern part of the northeastern state of Assam and is one of the oldest in the country. The estate boasts a rich cultural history, given how it has been the homeland for some of the oldest tribes in India. Popular lore holds that the water in this particular part of the state is unusually sweet and that’s what gives its teas a pleasantly sweet character. At present, the estate is mainly planted with high quality clones that produce some of the finest orthodox Assam black teas.
