NEPAL TEAS: A NEW TEA JOURNEY
Earlier a lot of external factors in Nepal wouldn't allow Tea plantations to thrive. Now, however, Nepal has started producing quality tea consistently. Teas like Guaranse and Ilam have gained popularity along with first-rate teas from Antu Valley, Kanyam, and other regions.
NEPAL TEA TRADERS: SMALLHOLDERS
The industry of Nepal consisted of smallholders that own tea plantation that is cover less an acre of land. Nepal's production centres are regional factories buying in leaf from smallholders. This gives them a cost advantage.
The Nepal black tea is quite a good tasting tea and is not the same as the Darjeeling black tea. You can get a less expensive variant of black tea from the Nepal tea gardens which have a slightly softer texture and woodier flavour.
The new Nepal tea industry in the Guranse estate is the centre of the development and the forefront of techniques. The tea bushes grown in Nepal are clones and not grown from seeds, however, all Nepal teas are fresh and organic. The Nepal tea plants are robust, disease resistant and flavourful.
THE SUPERLATIVE GREEN
The Nepal green teas are closer to the Japanese green teas than the Chinese teas. They have a clean and more appealing taste than the Chinese or Darjeeling green tea.
