The Garden

On the Brahmaputra's bank near Tezpur, Chardwar takes its name from the phrase four doors to heaven and was once owned by Maharaja Pradip Chandra Bhanj Deo of Mayurbhanj.

Revived in 2015 by Tea Promoters India, its organic and biodynamic cultivation yields teas that are bold, expressive and unmistakably Assamese, rooted in responsible farming.

Tasting Notes

From our Chief Tea Taster

Aroma
Rich and inviting, with pronounced malt notes framed by caramel sweetness and subtle honeyed accents.
Appearance
Deep amber
Taste
A lively expression of Assam's spring harvest, this medium-bodied black tea is smooth, balanced and deeply satisfying.

The cup opens with sweet, malty richness, unfolding into notes of date palm and gentle cocoa. Hints of caramel weave through the liquor, adding warmth and depth, while a delicate touch of astringency brings structure and poise.

The finish is clean and lingering, leaving behind a mellow sweetness that beautifully reflects the character of Chardwar's early-season leaf.
