Located in the lush expanse of Assam’s Dibrugarh district, the Dinjoye Tea Estate stands as an important marker in India’s tea history. Established during the colonial era, it is widely recognized as the first tea estate founded by a native Indian, marking a defining shift in the country’s tea narrative. Over decades, Dinjoye has built a reputation for producing teas known for their malty depth and dependable character.

Set at an elevation of around 390 feet and enriched by the fertile, silt-laden plains of the Brahmaputra River, the estate benefits from conditions well suited to Assam orthodox production. The combination of rich soil and a humid subtropical climate allows the bushes to develop strength and complexity in the cup.

Beyond the tea itself, Dinjoye reflects a long-standing commitment to its people. The estate supports initiatives in education, healthcare, and worker welfare, while also advancing gender inclusion with a significant number of women employed across roles, including leadership positions.
