Located in the emerald expanse of Assam’s Dibrugarh district, the Dinjoye Tea Estate stands as a proud symbol of India’s enduring tea heritage. Established during the colonial era, Dinjoye holds the rare distinction of being the first tea estate founded by a native Indian—a landmark moment in the history of Indian tea. With nearly a century of craftsmanship behind it, the estate has remained steadfast in its pursuit of quality, producing teas celebrated for their malty richness and full-bodied character.

Perched at an elevation of 390 feet and nourished by the silt-rich plains shaped by the Brahmaputra River, Dinjoye’s tea bushes flourish in fertile soil and a subtropical climate—conditions ideal for cultivating premium Assam orthodox teas.

But Dinjoye is more than a legacy of fine tea. It is a living, breathing community where tradition meets progress. The estate is deeply committed to fostering social development, with long-standing initiatives that support education, healthcare, and livelihood for its workers. Notably, Dinjoye champions gender inclusion, employing over 500 women across various roles, including seven in management positions—a significant achievement in the Indian tea industry.
