Established in 1878, Phuguri Tea Estate is a historic gem in the Mirik Valley of Darjeeling, located close to the Nepal border. Since 2000, the estate has been under the stewardship of the Bagaria Group, known for its innovative approach to tea cultivation and production. The estate's altitude, ranging from 1,070 to 1,800 meters, creates perfect conditions for growing high-quality teas.

The Bagaria Group has introduced superior tea cultivars, such as AV2, resulting in teas with unique floral-fruity aromas that set them apart from the traditional flavors of Darjeeling summer teas. This dedication to quality and innovation has made the Clonal Tippy teas, with their distinctive fragrance, a hallmark of Phuguri.

The estate produces over 108 tons of black tea annually, adhering to stringent international standards and certifications, including organic certifications from IMO and JAS, as well as Fair Trade, and Naturland. Nestled in the scenic southwest of Darjeeling, the estate combines its rich heritage with modern technology and continuous investments in cultivation techniques.
