Established between 1863 and 1868 amidst the verdant landscapes of Darjeeling's Rungbong Valley, Sungma tea estate stands as a testament to enduring British colonial legacies in the region. Perched gracefully between elevations ranging from 4000ft to 6000ft above sea level, this estate cultivates its renowned teas amidst the sublime beauty of the Himalayan foothills.

This verdant sanctuary, boasting over 300 hectares of immaculate terrain, not only produces exceptional teas but also harbours a thriving nature reserve adorned with thousands of majestic pine trees. Amidst the cool, misty climate, where temperatures oscillate between 3 degrees in winter and 28 degrees in summer, Sungma's teas acquire their distinctive character, reflecting the essence of its Himalayan terroir.

Following the devastation wrought by a massive earthquake in 1934, Sungma underwent a transformative period, merging with Turzum to fortify its operations. Under the stewardship of Jayshree Tea since 1993, Sungma has embraced modernization while honoring its rich heritage, investing in sustainable cultivation practices and employee welfare initiatives.
