Assam doomni gold summer black

A good assam tea , i have my tea with milk , does turn bitter if you steep a little longer , malty taste , but taste starts to turn watery , if you have tried halmari and mokalbari , then you wont like doomni gold , as their taste is far superior

Good but not malty

This is a good, basic Assam. Be careful not to over steep less it becomes bitter. This '23 batch isn't particularly malty.

Gorgeous Assam

Gorgeous Assam!

Lovely dark leaves with plenty of golden tips. A beautiful deep copper liquor and an exceptionally smooth and malty tea with plenty of sweetness. Not "furry" in the mouthfeel like some Assams can be. No bitterness with a 5-minute steep at 90C. If Assam tea could be silk, it would be this summer's Doomni Gold.

This tea is deep...

This tea is deep copper red. It takes sugar and a small dollop of cream to drink English style. Reminds me of the tea I drank as a small child. I have yet to order a tea from Teabox that I haven't loved!

First class Assam

A rich warm, nourishing tea that quickly calls out for a second cup. I take no sugar in my tea but the natural sweetness was pleasing and smooth. this tea is perfect now but I am looking forward to having it on a cold winter's morning. Thanx Teabox for yet another fabulous treat! Five stars without a doubt.

A very high quality tea.

I considered this tea one of my favorite high quality black teas.
When you look at the loose leaf when it is not steeped then you will notice the gold tips a sure sign of high quality.
The flavor was also one of my favorites because it had a very smooth body.

Wonderful, strong, Assam morning tea.

Been a connoisseur of Indian tea for over 20 years. The freshness of this Assam is wonderfully evident as soon as the package is opened. The aroma immediately hits you, smells of honey and dates.
Tea is malty and tastes of honey. Beautiful red color. Like all Assams, be careful not to brew to long, or it will easily become bitter and astringent.

Sweet and flavorful

Similar to the Doomni Special Summer Black, I enjoyed this a lot with milk. Remove the peaches and add the dates and nutmeg and it makes for a great tea. I probably liked it more than the special, but they were both good.

Fruity and caffeinated

Definitely pick up on the Dates both in the aroma and the palate, and found it to be another smooth tea. More caffeine than some of the others, but quite enjoyed it.

A solid-bodied morning tea

Assam is not my usual 'go-to' tea, but I did enjoy this. The quality was evident; it had a good 'weight' and richness to it. Some maltiness and a little sweetness. A beautiful colour that deserved a glass cup for a good view! I prefer my teas black without sweetening and I found this a little robust after the full 5 minutes, tending on bitterness. After 4 minutes' steep it made a better 'start-of-the-day' drink. The caffeine was evident even after 4 minutes (a problem for me, a boon for others!)

Dark Honey Nutmeg Assam

Tiny, multicolored, curled-up leaves with a faint, sweet, nutty aroma. The packet suggests aroma of dates for the brewed tea, but I get more of a strong honey aroma. Not light honey; more like the dark raw kind. Almost overpowering. The palate is spicy and astringent, with hints of nutmeg and honey. Definitely high caffeine. I don't drink milk, but I think this tea would be good with it.

A nice, balanced tea

I found this tea to be well-balanced. It wasn't overly bitter or earthy but not too mild either. The flavors were prominent but didn't taste overbearing. It's definitely what I liked with a black tea that has bold flavor without a lot going on.

A very solid breakfast tea

My two favorite Assam Summer teas this year are this lovely BOP grade from Doomni estate, and an the FOP grade tea from Halmari. I give this tea the node for a fitting my standards for a breakfast tea. It is nice and malty with a honey sweetness, has a rather thick body--even when steeped for 3 min. (I take it black usually), and has a peppery bite and medium astringency to balance things out. If brewed for 5 min, it makes milk very well.

Good Afternoon Tea

This was a tasty tea although a little on the light side for an Assam. It would make a great afternoon tea. Nice flavor .

full bodied kick-off

This is a nice rich and full tea, with some typical aromas. Malty, toffeey, bright redish in colour and with long-lasting aftertaste. A little bit bitter, but it fits well with its overall character.
If you are looking for a heavier Assam, this might be your choice :-)

Looks as good as it tastes

This tea really looks spectacular, the mixed small light golden and dark brown broken leaves
But when you finally dare to pour water over it, you will find it is a really strong and rich flavoured tea, without bitterness!
