Tasting Notes

From our Chief Tea Taster
Submit
Aroma
Lifted note of stone-fruits, hint of nuts along with light honeyed undertones
Appearance
Dark Amber
Taste
A well-balanced and vibrant cup which opens with a burst of delightful stone-fruity notes, reminiscent of apricot. As it unfolds, it reveals a rich medley of ripe berries and subtle nutty undertones akin to hazelnut. You can discern gentle astringency along the way, which however subsides to reveal faint whispers of cedar, rendering an element of depth to the cup.

On the palate, it offers a smooth, velvety texture with a rounded sensation that enhances the tea’s complex flavor profile.

The finish is long and satisfying, marked by lingering musky accents and hints of spice, leaving a memorable and pleasant aftertaste.

Tops my list and my lips!

This is truly my favorite tea! I have at least 6 cups a day. It is flavorful and robust. I enjoy it with a little sweetener, although it is also delicious alone.

Pleasantly surprised!!

I followed your directions- put 1.5!.tsp and not two. I steeped it for 3 min - not five. It came out really good without the bitterness

Great fresh flavor

This is one of the best muscatel-style teas I've had! It had a bright fresh flavor. I've even made iced tea with it and it was great

Exquisite tea tried in India and got more in the UK.

I was in Darjeeling in December 2021 and when buying tea as gifts for friends and relatives, I happened to be introduced to the 2nd flush of Giddhapahar tea leaves by the salesgirl. When I travelled back to Kolkata and brewed my first cup of tea I had a mind-blowing experience. It was the best Darjeeling I had tasted! Unfortunately I had only bought 100g of the tea leaves which soon ran out just before i returned to the UK. I searched the net to see if I could get hold of these tea leaves in the UK and chanced upon the Teabox website. The delivery was prompt and quick and I have been relishing this tea everyday since then. I am going to be a long term customer of Teabox and will try their recommended teas in the future.

Terrific tea company

I use your Darjeeling tea exclusively. I keep track of the ones I purchase & rate them for my personal taste. Each time I order, I get one I’m family with that I’ve liked - and a new one. So far, I have tried 26. I love your teas!
