This is one of India’s great teas, always reliably flavourful. Bright and rounded, slightly astringent, refreshing and revitalising.

As usual, we couldn’t wait to taste another fresh Nilgiri frost tea and boy did it make an impression:
A flavour explosion in the cup, so typical of a good Nilgiri frost tea. Its not just tasty but also quite powerful, so be careful with the amount of leaves when brewing.
There’s a fine line between a beautiful aroma & bitterness.
You get it right and it is super rewarding. So good, i ordered another lot straight away. I have this kind of tea any day before a high-priced Darjeeling.
It wakes up some memories of days with Darjeelings of that class.
Can’t wait to try the other Nilgiri Frost tea offering. Do yourself a favour 😁

This tea was wonderful surprise since i didn't know black tea from Nilgiri. A very nice and pleasant tea, - fruity and fresh, but also sweet and full in a quiet way. For others, who maybe don't know this region, - this tea is a 'must try' :-)

This tea reminds me of some of the Taiwanese black teas I've had, in particular the subtle honey and fruit notes that suggest a black/oolong hybrid. It's delicious and perfect for those times when an Assam or Ceylon tea might be too strong.

Tea is fresh and flavorful. It's little intense /overwhelming (with cantaloupe flavour) for my taste.

This tea generates a Waah! in every cup. This is the second time I am buying it and will be a regular presence on my tea shelf.

I have tried a lot of teas from Teabox, but this remains my favorite. In fact, I am disappointed when my glass of steaming tea doesn't smell and taste as floral and uplifting as this.

This tea is such comfort! Very pleasant, sophisticated, bouquet of flavors — none too overpowering. I type this with a mouthful, trying to unpack what I am tasting. I have been drinking this for almost a month now and I am not yet tired of this practice.

It has a delicious earthy taste. I think it's very good.

Has a wonderfully gentle aroma and taste. It would be a great introductory tea for people who are learning about black teas because it is aromatic and flavourful without being challenging.

I realy enjoyed in this tea. It has smooth fruity taste.After sipping you can feel fresh feeling in your mouth. I could drink it more then once in a day. I got it as sample with my order.

I received this tea in my first subscription and it was a wonderful introduction to Teabox. This tea was both fresh, smooth and great tasting.

Good overall tea for anytime enjoyment

Dry leaves bring to mind the smell of fog coming off the ocean. When brewed, they acquire a woody and slightly fruity aroma (grapes? cherries?). The tea itself has a rich, woody and floral aroma. It is medium bodied with a thin finish and lingering floral notes.

I am new to the site and fairly new to loose leaf tea, but this one smelled sweet and delicious before steeping and had a nice flavor when slightly sweetened. Once it was steeped, the smell was a bit more woody than sweet, and overall pleasant. I would definitely buy it again.

I love this tea. It has a light airy taste. But it can be astringent if over steeped or you use too much. Good favor. Floral

Light tea for all day

The sample I ordered of this was a big surprise—much better than and different from the two previous Nilgiris I'd tried.
It starts off grassy, then builds up to a wonderful aromatic finish with characters of sweet spice and just a hint of the earlier grassy notes.
It's nothing like any other black I've tasted, but did remind me a bit of a young puer without the smoke. Very impressive and enjoyable.

I've had a couple of Nilgiri teas from teabox, and their presence was one of the main reason I signed up as they are rarely available in England. This is certainly the most intereseting though it has similarities with both Darjeeling and Assam teas with a stronger taste but also a unique flavour. Well worth a try.

Not the usual Nilgiri fare. Notes of Muscatel rather than the characteristic lemon splash. The aromatics are sweet and exotic, loose and in the cup. The brew is decidedly smooth but with a welcome wee kick to perk up the potion. Truly rich, flowery, and tutti-frutti.

This is a quite pleasant Frost Nilgiri. It is much the same as the Chamraj, my personal favorite, but the departure is in the beginning and ending. The Havukal has a slightly cinnamon beginning, and a short spicy finish. In between is a very mellow, mild astringency to be savored. It is not as citrusy as the Chamraj, but never-the-less, a nice tea in its own right.

I've had Nilgiri black teas in the past, but never a "frost" tea. Wow!, what a pleasant surprise. Very aromatic, both the dry leaf in the package, and the tea liquor. Smells like exotic flowers and eucalyptus. The tea liquor is quite lively and brisk. The oily body coats the tongue, and after an initial dryness, a long herbal/woody sweetness sets in. As an afternoon tea, this is a pleasant detour from my usual Darjeeling or Japanese green.
