Named 'Lakyrsiew', meaning "The Awakening," this boutique tea garden carries a rich history. Interestingly, tea cultivation was originally intended for Meghalaya by the British, but due to local opposition, their attention shifted to the neighbouring state of Assam.

Lakyrsiew stands as a testament to the awakening of tea culture in this region. Situated on the serene southern bank of Umiam Lake, just outside the charming capital of Meghalaya, Shillong-Lakyrsiew employs organic methods to craft delicate, high-quality teas.

A well-rounded, pleasantly supple cup which starts on a soft-fruity tonality and gradually opens up to reveal distinct woody and caramelized notes towards the middle; rendering a layered texture to the liquor. Fresh nutty tinctures are discernible towards the finish, which however ebb to finish on soft, floral undertones, making for a distinctive Autumnal experience from this boutique tea plantation.

Where is Meghalaya located ?

"Autumn Flush" represents one of the four main & final tea harvesting seasons. This flush is harvested during mid-October till end-November.

The flush starts once the monsoon has withdrawn from the misty hills of Darjeeling with the temperatures beginning to drop.

What are the basic characteristics of Autumn teas?

Generally, Autumnal teas are usually well-balanced, having no sharpness or astringency that is typical of first and second flush teas. ItÕs less floral and delicate than the Spring flush.

ItÕs more fruity with slightly sweet, nutty undertones and mellowness, making it the most readily palatable of all Darjeeling teas.

What do you mean by Autumn Chinary Black tea ?

Is this tea caffeine-free?

No, Autumn Black tea is not caffeine-free.

While it may have slightly lower caffeine levels compared to some other black teas, it still contains an element of caffeine.

What is the recommended steeping time and temperature for Autumn Black tea?
