WE ANSWERED
There are different varieties of teas available such as Black Teas, Green Teas, White Teas, Oolong Teas, Chai, Tisanes & Flavored Blends
Our teas are fresh because we buy the first pick of every season and take utmost care of the same once it reaches our facility. Tea has 4 enemies - Light, moisture, oxygen and heat. In our dehumidified facility we ensure they are packed and stored well. The dehumidifier helps to keep the moisture levels intact and also helps keep the optimum temperature in place. The teas are then immediately bulk vacuum packed to keep the moisture and oxygen at bay. This unique process ensures our teas fresh as the day they were processed at the estates.
Freshness matters because tea is an agricultural product and also hygroscopic in nature. Which means, if the teas travel through warehouses and different temperatures it loses its inherent flavor and health properties. Fresh tea tastes better and is healthier.
We procure teas directly from different Indian tea estates. We have stringent quality parameters in place to ensure we procure only the finest high grade premium teas from these gardens.
Tea leaves are known to remain fresh when stored under controlled atmospheric conditions. All our single estate teas can be consumed before 24 months. This may vary depending on the tea, please refer to your packaging for the same.
Each tea and tea type have their own steeping instructions. Please refer to the individual tea’s steeping instructions. Our team ensures that you get the right water temperature, steeping tme and the no. of steeps in each tea for a better tea experience. You could also refer to our Steeping page for more details.
As explained in the previous question, its our unique processing and storage that helps us to keep the teas in the optimal condition. So, no matter what the date of picking is, the tea when vacuum packed and kept in dehumidifiers will retain their freshness.
Our chais and blends are made in small batches to ensure that the tea remains fresh and not stored for months before it reaches you.
Black teas are the most oxidized(aged) of all tea types. They undergo every step of tea processing from plucking, withering, rolling, oxidation, and drying. For fresh black teas, oxidation is a significant step as this is where the flavour of the teas is built. Consequently, black teas possess a stronger flavour profile than white, green, or oolong teas. Loose leaf black teas can be made in an orthodox way or by using mechanized techniques (CTC). Like all teas, there are many black tea benefits which makes it a healthy alternative to high-caffeine beverages.
Like almost all other teas, the white tea leaves come from the same Camellia sinensis plant. The name ‘white tea’ comes from the fine, silvery‐white hairs that cover the unopened buds of the plant. However, when steeped, the liquid tea is not white or transparent but rather a pale, light yellow. Although there exists no consensus on how white tea should be processed, there are two commonly accepted methods. The first involves minimal processing, where the loose leaves are withered for a long time before they are dried, and in the second, the loose leaves are first steamed or fired in order to deactivate polyphenol oxidase, and then dried.
Fresh white teas are an antioxidant powerhouse. Antioxidants are the body’s protective agents against free radicals, chronic disease, and inflammation. Since they have high antioxidant value, which makes it an excellent ally for natural weight loss.
Oolongs teas are made from the leaves of Camellia sinensis. What sets it apart from the blacks or whites or greens is the single step of oxidation. Oolongs fits between black and green teas by being partially oxidized. Its leaves are usually formed in one of two unique styles: rolling them long and curly or ‘wrap‐ curling’ the leaves into small bead‐like shapes, sometimes with a tail.
Drinking tea can do wonders for your health and Oolong tea is no exception. This impressively healthy zero-calorie drink is a start to your weight loss program. Organic oolong tea is packed with alkaloids, including caffeine that can boost your mental and physical well-being, increase serotonin production, and counter free radicals. One smart way of burning calories is the regular consumption of oolong teas.
