The Garden

Tucked in the Eastern Himalayas, Samabeong was established in 1882 and takes its name from a phrase meaning abode of the black bear, a tribute to its untamed wilderness.

Bordering Neora Valley forests, it shelters the red panda and Bengal tiger. Once abandoned, it was revived through sustainable, biodynamic cultivation into expressive spring teas.

Aroma
The aroma opens with deep malty notes and rich cocoa, layered with a subtle touch of prunes and warm resinous undertones that lend remarkable depth and complexity to the cup.
Appearance
Bright amber
Taste
A rich, full-bodied cup with a smooth, velvety texture that unfolds in graceful layers.

The opening sip is bursting with juicy muscat grape and ripe peach, followed by gentle honeyed sweetness that adds warmth and depth. As the cup evolves, delicate woody notes and the earthy freshness of petrichor emerge, beautifully balanced by subtle orchid florals. A refined, well-integrated astringency provides structure, carrying the flavors into a long, lingering finish of muscatel sweetness, toasted wood, and a whisper of the mountains after rain. An elegant expression of Darjeeling's celebrated summer flush.

Good Treat for a Tea enthusiast

First of all it’s worth the price and has awesome flavour profile to it. The signature Muscatel notes and then the Fruity and Sweet flavours hit your tongue. There is a distinct sweetness that you’ll notice as you savour your tea.

Well balanced cup of Darjeeling Tea for all the Darjeeling and Muscatel fans. Loved it in every sip.

Smoothly Delicious

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I would actually like this tea (Darjeeling Samabeong Summer Muscatel Black) It's the first drink of the day & makes getting out of bed in the morning a far easier exercise as there is something delightful to look forward to. Unfortunately due to the very high price it's not something I can afford on a regular basis. Darjeeling tea is the only drink I have at home & as I work at home I can get through quite a few cups per day very quickly so drinking it regularly would present me with a bill higher than my utility bill each month. However it is one of the best Darjeelings I've had in over 40 years of drinking only Darjeeling.

A glorious muscatel second flush

I’m liking this more that I usually like second flush teas. It is the perfect blend of grape and rose with stone fruit and malt. Simply delicious. A must try.

An Unexpected Treat

Hot water poured on the leaves released an aroma of Czech Pilsner malt and immediately won me over. The flavor is delicately fruity with enough body to stand up to a splash of milk. It only bows down to the finest Darjeeling 2nd flush teas

Between spring and summer

Tasty tea. If you are looking for a slightly lighter, greener taste then a summer Darjeeling then this one is your tea.
