Established in 1878, Harmutty Tea Estate is one of Assam's oldest and most esteemed tea gardens. Located in North Lakhimpur along the banks of the Dikrong River and bordered by the forests of Arunachal Pradesh, the estate benefits from fertile soils and an exceptional terroir that produces teas with remarkable depth and character.

Steeped in local folklore, Harmutty is believed to be named after Queen Hiramati, wife of King Arimatta, with her burial mound still found near the estate's Maj Bungalow. Over the decades, the garden has earned a reputation for crafting outstanding orthodox Assam teas that beautifully reflect the region's heritage.

Known for its premium clonal varietals, including P126 and N436, Harmutty consistently produces distinctive, full-bodied teas prized by tea lovers around the world.
