Established in 1973, Mangalam Tea Estate lies in the heart of Upper Assam’s Sibsagar district, spanning 118 hectares. A pioneer in modern tea cultivation, it is one of the few estates to rely entirely on clonal varietals, planted with dense spacing of 18 inches and a plucking patch of 2.6 feet—supporting an impressive 42,480 bushes per hectare. This meticulous design has made Mangalam a benchmark of excellence, famed for its radiant golden tips and exceptional Orthodox and CTC teas.

Set at a slightly higher elevation than most gardens in the district, Mangalam benefits from a unique terroir that deepens the richness of its teas. Its layout is carefully structured into one-acre plots, each bordered by wide footpaths and motorable roads—allowing easy supervision, efficient operations, and consistently high standards of craft.
